Hi, I enjoy trying to handicap harness racing in the US and want to learn more about French racing. I apologize but do not speak French so I hope the internet browsers translate like mine does or perhaps someone does speak English.
My initial question is does PMU data contain anything similar to a Beyer’s or speed rating? That is, a calculation that attempts to normalize times over various tracks, distances, conditions, etc. If so, can you point me to what this field is called in French in the PMU data? Thank you so much and I hope I am posting the right question in the right area of this forum community.

I don`t think so. They show racetimes over a course but it is already hard to find the overall time record of a French horse.
Thank you so much Bentec for answering. I'd like to ask a follow-up question to you or members of the board. I lay everything out in Microsoft Excel to handicap. It seems like there are so many fields in the PMU Infocentre and the XML constructs that I am surprised there is nothing there that is a speed rating. Can I ask you or the members of the forum what fields are called in the data that look at speed?
